- How long does an NVQ take to achieve?
- On average an NVQ is completed within a 6 months period for a level 2 and 12 months for a level 3, but this is very dependent on the level of qualification, the frequency of assessment and individual commitment.
- Do I have to take an exam?
- There are no tests or exams: instead, your competence will be assessed over a period of time in your workplace.
- Do I have to attend a college?
- As an NVQ is a work-based qualification, you will not be required to attend a college. An assessor will visit you in your workplace, at times to suit you.
- Does it cost me anything?
- NVQ fees are covered either by government funding or through employer contributions; therefore there is no personal cost to you.
- What happens if I leave my company before completing my NVQ?
Should you leave your company for whatever reason, you must notify us or your assessor as soon as possible, and we will investigate what options are available to you.
- How long will it take for my certificate to come through?
- Certificates can take up to 6 weeks to be issued from the date that your completed portfolio is submitted.
