Background
b-inspired is a community based organisation which supports the regeneration of the local community of Braunstone in Leicester. The organisation was set up in 2001 as part of a ‘New Deals for Community’ programme. Work and projects focus on supporting people in the community to b-working, b-active,b-creative,b-connected and b-enterprising, under the overall umbrella of b-inspired.
How skillspoint helped
b-inspired had a huge transition to make from a grant funded regeneration programme to a charitable trust. In order to effect the necessary changes a transformation agenda was created. This identified a number of operational goals such as enhancing performance, improving quality, developing skills and working better together.
b-inspired engaged Skillspoint to review their business plan and together identify future requirements from a people perspective. With them, we designed, developed and implemented a performance framework along with a training and development programme that was applicable to all levels of the business.
How the solution worked
Our role was instrumental in bringing b-inspired together as management team, facilitating the project, providing our expertise and the right level of support, successfully engaging the staff teams from start to finish.
We motivated and supported the management team throughout the process enabling them to work better together, and identify and build upon strengths within the organisation.
Future plans
b-inspired continue to focus on continuous improvement in the organisation and the communities they support. Future projects are planned involving business improvement techniques being undertaken as a qualification by many of the staff teams.
